Total Time 5 minutes mins
Servings 1 margarita or pitcher
For single serving
- ⅓ cup blackberries
- 2-3 quarter size pieces of fresh ginger
- 1 lime juiced
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz triple sec
- ice
- optional: simple syrup to taste
- optional: salt for rim, lime slices and blackberries for garnish
For a pitcher (12 servings)
- 4 cups blackberries
- 24 quarter size pieces of fresh ginger
- 1.5 cups lime juice about 12 limes
- 3 cups tequila
- 1.5 cups triple sec
- ice
- optional: simple syrup to taste
- optional: salt for rim, lime slices and blackberries for garnish
Pour the blackberries, ginger, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker and muddle thoroughly (If you are making a pitcher, you may want to puree in a blender to make it easier).
Add the tequila, triple sec, and ice into the cocktail shaker. Shake thoroughly. Taste and add simple syrup as desired.
To salt the rim of your glass, rub a lime wedge along the rim. Sprinkle salt (I use coarse sea salt) onto a small plate and swirl the rim in the salt. Add ice to glass.
Using a cocktail strainer (or mesh strainer), strain cocktail into the salted glass.
Optional: Add lime slice and/or blackberries for garnish as pictured.
