Russian Tea Cakes

These classic cookies are only a few ingredients and bursting with nutty, sweet flavor!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter room temperature
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar ½ set to the side
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup finely chopped walnuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 F.
  • Beat butter, ½ cup powdered sugar, and vanilla thoroughly.
  • Separately, sift together the flour and salt, and slowly mix into the butter mixture until evenly mixed.
  • Mix in nuts until evenly distributed.
  • Roll dough into 1" balls and place on a baking sheet at least 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until they are set, but not brown.
  • While still warm, roll in the powdered sugar you set aside earlier. Cool. Roll in sugar again.
