This salad has truly become a staple in my house since I first created it. What is tahini?
Tahini is a ground sesame mixture that is typically found in Middle Eastern cuisine. It’s a key ingredient in hummus, baba ganoush, and is becoming a very popular ingredient for baked goods!
Where can I find tahini?
Tahini can be found in any major grocery store! Unfortunately, it’s found in very different aisles in different stores. The most common aisles I’ve found tahini in are the condiments section and the “International aisle.” If you can’t find it, just ask!
What is a chopped salad?
A chopped salad is exactly what it sounds like! All the ingredients are chopped to roughly the same size and tossed together.

Smoked Salmon and Tahini Chopped Salad
Ingredients
- 4 cups kale stem removed, chopped (I prefer dinosaur kale)
- 1.5 cups red cabbage chopped
- 1 cup jicama chopped
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- ½ red onion chopped
- 1 avocado diced
- 1 cup tomato chopped
- 4 oz smoked salmon chopped
- 1 cup cucumber chopped
- Creamy tahini dressing
Instructions
- Mix together all salad ingredients.
- Toss the dressing into the salad.
- Serve and enjoy!
