Up until last year I had never made my own granola, and I had no idea what I was missing out on! It’s so easy to make a big batch that will last for weeks, making breakfast a breeze. Plus, who doesn’t want a reason to eat chocolate and peanut butter in the morning?

What ingredients do I need to make this?
- Old-fashioned oats
- Peanuts
- Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark chocolate)
- Natural, smooth peanut butter
- Honey or maple syrup
- Vanilla
- Cinnamon
Should I use salted or unsalted peanuts?
I use unsalted, since the peanut butter gives this granola a natural salty flavor on its own! Plus, you can always add salt to taste.

Do I have to use natural peanut butter?
Using a natural peanut butter gives a very different flavor than using a regular one, which is why I’m specific about it in the recipe. I typically try to find a peanut butter with little to no added sugar, as some peanut butters are very sweet and can change the taste of this delicious granola!
Should I use honey or maple syrup?
Use whichever you want! I typically add honey, as it’s what I usually have on hand. I like to add the maple syrup option for people who prefer it or are vegan.
Serving Suggestions:
- Use as a topping for yogurt or a smoothie bowl
- Snack on it plain!
- Pour milk over it and use it as a cereal
