After all, donuts and chai lattes are separately fall staples, so why not bring them together for one amazing dessert?!

These baked chai donuts were inspired by my chai sugar cookies. Both of these recipes are filled with chai flavor and absolutely delicious.

Baked Chai Donuts
Ingredients
Donuts
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- 1 tablespoon chai spice mix homemade or store bought
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter melted
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup yogurt
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
Topping
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1-3 teaspoon chai spice mix to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, chai, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- In a separate, smaller bowl, mix the melted butter, egg, yogurt, milk, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet ingredients slowly into the dry ingredients, mixing until combined. Do not over mix.
- Cut a large opening in a zip top or piping bag, and pipe dough into greased donut tin.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool on cooling rack.
- Once cooled, mix the sugar and chai together (from the topping ingredients). Melt butter in a separate bowl. Dip the donuts first into the butter, then into the sugar mixture.
- Repeat with each donut, then enjoy!
