    Witch’s Brew Cocktail

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This blackberry ginger cocktail is the perfect drink for a Halloween party or any Halloween activity! It’s time to get festive this spooky season with this purple cocktail. The dry ice is optional, but gives it the perfect final spooky touch, and you can make it in a punch bowl (just multiply the recipe) for a Halloween party with the spooky and festive dry ice! Enjoy and don’t forget to leave a review.

What ingredients do I need to make this?

    • Blackberries: Blackberries give this cocktail the perfect blend of tart and sweet!
    • Vodka or gin: I’ve made this cocktail with both and it is great with either one! The gin changes the flavor more than the vodka, but they both work very well with this cocktail!
    • Ginger beer (diet or regular): This gives the cocktail a spicy kick to balance out the blackberry flavor!
    • Limes: Add a nice tart flavor to this cocktail with a splash of lime.
    • Dry ice or ice: Dry ice will give this beautiful smoke you see pictured! Details on how to handle/where to find dry ice below.

Where can I buy dry ice?

In most major grocery stores in a separate freezer next to the regular ice. Just ask at the cash register!

How do I handle dry ice?

Do not touch! I drop the block of dry ice (in a bag) on the ground, and take out pieces with tongs. Just make sure not to drink the dry ice. Feel free to look up any other handling/safety tips.

Is it better with vodka or gin?

Just use whatever you like better or whatever you have! I like both so I just use whatever I happen to have on hand.

How do I make this recipe?

    • Crush blackberries into a blackberry puree, then place in shaker with vodka or gin and lime juice.
    • Shake these ingredients (with ice if not using dry ice).
    • Optional: If you prefer to not have little pieces of blackberries in your drink, strain the cocktail into your glass.
    • Add ginger beer to glass.
    • Add dry ice and serve!
