    Ginger Pear Bourbon Smash

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This ginger pear bourbon smash is such a great fall or winter drink! The cinnamon simple syrup perfectly pairs with the bourbon and pears, and the lemon compliments the drink perfectly.

Truthfully, you can make this cocktail anytime of year, but pears always remind me of fall/winter since that's when they're in season.

This ginger pear bourbon smash was inspired by my Spike Mulled Apple Cider on this site. It also pairs well with these Pear and Brie Salad Skewers.

    Ingredients

    For the cocktail:

    • Bourbon
    • Ginger Beer
    • Pear juice
    • Lemon
    • Cinnamon simple syrup
    • Ice
    • Optional for garnish: Pear slice, cinnamon stick, and/or sprig of thyme

    For the cinnamon simple syrup":

    • Sugar
    • Water
    • Cinnamon sticks

Do I need to use cinnamon simple syrup?

You don’t have to, but I definitely prefer it! It adds a nice cinnamon flavor, but if you want to you can use regular simple syrup.

Where can I find store-bought pear juice?

It's probably different depending on which store you're at, but I usually find it in the "juice" non-refrigerated section, and sometimes in the "Mexican" section. I typically use Hero Pear Nectar and it always makes a delicious cocktail!

Can I use a liquor besides bourbon?

I have only ever made this cocktail with bourbon, so I can’t vouch for anything else!
