    Gingerbread Espresso Martini

    A delicious holiday twist on a classic cocktail! Make this gingerbread espresso martini for a delicious and festive drink.

    Of course, I usually make this drink around the holidays when gingerbread is everywhere and you need some warming and delicious spices.

    This was inspired by my Bailey's Espresso Martini on this site, and pairs well with my family's gingerbread cookie recipe.

    Ingredients

    • Vodka
    • Espresso
    • Irish cream liqueur
    • Gingerbread simple syrup (store bought or homemade)
    • Coffee liqueur
    • Optional, for rim: gingerbread simple syrup and crushed gingerbread cookies

    Instructions

    Prepare you martini glass by rolling the rim through gingerbread simple syrup, then roll through crushed gingerbread cookies.

    Pour all cocktail ingredients and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Then, strain into your martini glass and enjoy!

    Substitutions

    • Espresso - if you can't make espresso, then use strongly brewed coffee

    Equipment

    • Cocktail shaker (if you don't have a cocktail shaker, then just use a jar with a secure lid)

    Top tip

    Make sure you shake extremely vigorously until a foam forms, this gives the espresso martini the signature foam topping.

    FAQ

    What if I don't have a cocktail strainer?

    If you don't have a cocktail shaker, then just use a jar with a secure lid like a mason jar.

    What if I don't have an espresso machine?

    No problem! You can use instant espresso powder to make your espresso or use very strongly brewed coffee.

    Equipment

    • 1 Cocktail shaker or jar with secure lid

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 oz vodka
    • 1 oz espresso cooled
    • 0.75 oz Irish cream liqueur ex: Bailey's
    • 0.75 oz gingerbread simple syrup store bought or homemade
    • 0.5 oz coffee liqueur ex: Kahlua
    • ice
    • optional, for rim: gingerbread simple syrup and crushed gingerbread cookies

    Instructions
     

    For the rim (optional)

    • Crush gingerbread cookies.
    • Roll rim of glass into gingerbread simple syrup. Then, roll through crushed gingerbread cookies.

    For the martini

    • Add all martini ingredients into a cocktail shaker, including ice.
    • Shake vigorously so foam forms, then strain quickly into martini glass. Serve.
