These sticky miso chicken wings are made by tossing extra crispy wings into a miso honey sauce. They're packed with umami flavor and incredibly easy to make. Ideal for game day, dinner parties, or a quick weeknight treat.

This was inspired by my Korean BBQ Chicken Wings on this site, another tasty wing recipe.
Ingredients

- Chicken wings
- White miso paste
- Soy sauce
- Mirin
- Rice vinegar
- Honey
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Optional: Hot sauce
- Salt
- Optional for garnish: sesame seeds, green onion

Instructions

- Step 1: Preheat oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a cooling rack on top. Pat chicken wings dry. Then, sprinkle both sides with salt and place on rack. Bake.

- Step 2: Flip wings every 15 minutes. Bake until golden brown on the outside, depending on the size of the wings it can take up to an hour.

- Step 3: Mix all sauce ingredients together and cook on medium heat until slightly reduced (slightly thicker/less watery). Then, remove from heat.

- Step 4: Let wings cool for 5 minutes. Then, toss with sauce until coated and enjoy!
Variations
- Spicy - if you prefer extra spicy wings, add extra hot sauce to your liking!

- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels (it's important to do this very well!) and sprinkle with salt. Place in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Turn wings every 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Depending on the size of the wings, this can take up to an hour.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Toss with miso sauce until coated. Garnish and enjoy!
Miso Sauce
- While the wings are baking, mix together the miso, soy sauce, mirin, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic in a medium bowl until combined.
- On the stove on medium heat, heat the miso sauce until slightly reduced (this means it will be less watery). Remove from heat and let sit at least 5 minutes before tossing with wings.
